Welcome to the Island Vineyard Community Church website. Our mission is to live out John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood.” (Message translation)
We aim to show the extravagant love of Jesus Christ to Oak Harbor and the surrounding area. We do this by being a safe, relational, and intentional worshiping community. We share life with one another, partner with others in our community, and work on being a real and tangible expression of Jesus Christ.
We use the term Safe to represent a core value of being a welcoming and healing community. We understand churches can often be unsafe for some. We recognize that choosing to go to a new church can be a scary prospect. Everyone was welcome to hang with Jesus, and as the body of Christ we want everyone to be welcome to hang with us. Everyone has a hurt story and in our church we value being able to write a healing chapter.
We use the term Relational to represent a core value of neighboring and partnering with individuals and each other. We are a church community made up of various and diverse people living in a larger community made of even more various and diverse people. So whether its partnering with a single person, a whole organization, our neighborhood, or all of Oak Harbor we recognize that our church is a part of something and we work together towards the greater glory of the Father.
We use the term Intentional to represent a core value of spiritual growth and formation. We know that just getting older doesn’t necessarily make us wiser! It takes deliberate effort to grow. As a church we want to know God deeper and express God better every day. So we work at hearing His voice, studying His word, using His gifts, and loving one another and our community. We are intentional about growing.
